Question: I'm writing a rape scene in a story but I can't think of how to do it!? !?
I'm writing a story, and in one of the chapters one of the characters gets raped, but I'm not sure how to write a rape scene!.It's important to he plot that he gets raped, otherwise the most intimidating character won't be introduced correctly!.I've made up my mind to write it,so don't tell me to drop it and think of something else!.As I said,it is extremely necessary!.

So,can you please give me a bit of advice as to how to go about doing this!?I'd like it to be a bit realistic and in the moment, but I like to keep an open mind on it!.If you can give me a link or something to a story online with a rape scene it,I'd be grateful!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, I completely believe that a man can get raped!. So, I'm sure you didn't make the mistake of writing "he" when you "meant" "she" because you wouldn't make the mistake more than once!.

Anyways, I think you sould allude to it the way others have stated!. It doesn't have to be graphic or all in their face because they most likely won't like reading about that!. And the most demeaning thing for a man!? What about a woman!? It happens all the time to women!.

Avoid my rants!. Things like this make me sick because you can't really help the victim!. Anyways, allude to it or make the victim close their eyes and think about something else!. It's what some do!. I watched a program on where the woman had gotten raped and she said that she just blanked out like it wasn't happening because it was the only way she would even make it!. You could have him do the same thing!. Like I said, it doesn't have to be graphic and since it's necessary to the story you could add a few details (that aren't disgusting or going to freak the reader out) and then move onto the next scene!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wait a minute!. "He" gets raped!? I guess you can read Deliverance - there's a male rape scene in there!. I hope your target audience for this novel does not include men!. Psychologists say it's the most demeaning thing that can happen to a man!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If SHE gets raped, it would be best to probably allude to it as stated earlier, that way it would symbolize the girl blocking it from her memory, then you can deal with her coming to grips with what happened!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just allude to it!. Get close to the event then fade to black (BD style) than fad back in after the fact!. It's much classier to do it that wasy especially if it's at the beginning and the reader doesn't know your characters yet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's never smart to write about something you don't understand!. Interview some victims so that you can empathizeWww@QuestionHome@Com
