Question: Does my story have potential to be good!?
*I'm writing a story thats been taking me awhile, and I dont know if anyone is even going to enjoy it, so heres an overview on it!.*

The story of a boy named Jacob Chester, 17 years old, a junior in high school!. His mother died from a brain aneurysm after giving birth to him!. Ever since then his father, Michael Chester slowly fell into an addiction to alcohol, until he became what what’s well known, an alcoholic!. Jacob’s grades are beginning to slip, and his view on his future is all to pessimistic!. One day while Jacob is in his study hall class, he is approached by a girl named Carissa Daimen, a sweet, attractive young girl who is very outgoing, the quite opposite of Jacob’s personality!. Well as annoyed Jacob is with her at first, he slowly opens up and finally ends up falling in love with her!. As they fall in love they share many both personal and impersonal things!. Carissa tries to help patch up Jacob’s relationship with his father, which ends up a disaster and Jacob breaks it off with Carissa!. As weeks go by he begins to realize that she was only trying to help and finally builds up the strength to apologize to Carissa!. Of course, when he explains himself to Carissa later, she is in full understanding of why he acted as he did!. No one had ever tried interfering with him and his father before!. He didn’t know what it was like to have someone that close!. Well unfortunately one morning while Carissa is driving to school, a man falls asleep behind the wheel of a semi-truck, which hits the left side of Carissa’s car, and she dies!. Well, it doesn’t take long for Jacob to find out!. Jacob becomes so angry; that the only thing he can think to do is seek revenge on the driver responsible!. Jacob goes a buys a 9 mm handgun and spends the night reminiscing in his of whether or not he should go through with this!. Well the next morning when he wakes up he comes to find that the gun is missing, and his father sits on a chair next to his bed!. Jacob’s father admits that he hasn’t been the best father, and is going to seek help on his addiction to alcohol!. Him and his father talk for hours, even into the day when Jacob should be in school!. Throughout the next year Jacob raises his grade and ends up graduating high school and going to college!. All along the while his father has well stopped his addiction to alcohol, and met someone new!. She in fact was Jacob’s English teacher who stayed after hours to help assist Jacob!. Along with that, she was an AA leader, who helped Jacob’s father quit drinking!. The story ends with the three of them at Christmas Eve party of Heathers, (Jacob’s English teacher and soon to be step mother!.) So in the end Carissa was in fact successful of repairing the broken relationship between Jacob and his father!.

I'd rather Carissa not die, coma/critical condition/parapelegic but not dead!. Is the gun missing because Carissa took it or his father!? Id say let his father find it and let that be the wake-up call that either his son fears him or is planning to kill him!. It waxes of Bridge to Terabithia meets Seventh Heaven!. I find the characters compelling and I would like to know more about them!. I'm just thankful you didn't have him discover some special super power!. The overview makes it sound like just an hour or so with commercials but I like the multiple antagonists Jacob vs Himself, Jacob vs His Father, but with Carissa not dying I think the audience is far more satisfied and it feels more complete!. Only my opinion, you have to go your own way!. Good luck and good job!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i think it was good but you told the whole story! so i already know what is going to be about so i wouldnt read it!. You should always tell a summary of a story with a cliffhanger that is going to want to make the reader read the whole book not put it back on the shelfWww@QuestionHome@Com
