An old brother and sister decide to adopt a boy to help on their farm, but get Anne instead!. She has so many adventures in the town, and is the risk taker out of all the girls!. She is really smart and is always competing with one boy for top grades in her class!. Her best friend is a beauty named Dianne!. There is also a romance in the book too, which continues throughout the series!. All in all, a great tart to a series!. So far, I've read the first three, the series is, in order: Anne of Green Gables 2 Anne of Avonlea 3 Anne of the Island 4 Anne of Windy Poplars 5 Anne's House of Dreams 6 Anne of Ingleside 7 Rainbow Valley 8 Rilla of Ingleside You can read them online at the Project Gutenberg website, if you want to continue the series and don't have the books!. Don't remember exactly what it's about but I know that Anne is an orphan and is sent to live with one of her relatives!. If I remember correctly it's set in the 1800's and Anne is a bit of tomboy which was frowned upon back then!. It's about an orphan girl, named Anne Shirley, who goes to live with a brother & sister!. They had wanted a boy to help with the farm work but the orphanage made a mistake & sent a girl!. The family falls in love with Anne, even though she's a little odd, & decide to let her stay!. The story is about her exploits growing up & takes place in the town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island, which is part of Canada!. It's about this girl, Anne, she's an orphan!. Marilla and Matthew are a pair of old siblings that live together, they want to adopt a boy to work on their farm!. But!.!.!. they get Anne instead! It's some mix up and they want to send her back, but gradually!.!.!. Anne gets their affection and they decide to keep her!. From that point on, Anee lives at Green Gables with them!. However, she is an imaginative, hot tempered girl and this often gets her into all sorts of scraps!. Anne is a very vivid character, as vivid as her hair (red, but she would like it to be called AUBURN) and her many traits get us to warm up to her, and I found I could relate to her very well!. The basic plot is that an elderly woman and her brother adopt a whimsical orphan and they sit through her misadventures!. That's very condensed, of course!.
