How can I come up with good story ideas?

Question: How can I come up with good story ideas!?

I just keep thinking all of my stories are bad!. I have written so many stories, but ended up just getting rid of them because I thought they were horrible!. How can I come up with an idea I actually like!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Think of things you like and dislike and work on them to bring them to life in a story!. You can build on them to build up a great mystery (if you're writing fiction)!. Your character(s), can be someone you either like or dislike!. That is, you can make him/her an antagonist or protagonist!. Just let your mind wander a bit!.

It's tempting to say that if you have to ask you'll never know, but I think you'll find that a lot of writers don't like the stuff they've written even when other people do!.
Try reading Stephen King's book On Writing, he gives loads of good encouraging advice for writers in that!. The main thing he points out is that a good writer has to be a good reader and I bet you'll find that if you read enough good books you won't find it difficult to come up with ideas!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try doing some writing exercises!. Prompts are always good as well!. I recommend the "Writers Book of Matches" it's filled with prompts!.

They have great features and it's worth checking out!! Once I was around other writers I became inspired and ideas started to come!. The people on there also helped me out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
