yes, because all those years snape hated harry or at least acted like it!. but he always starred into his eyes because he saw his one love staring back at him!. that's why when snape died his last words were ''look at me'' he wanted to see them one last time!. looking at harry he saw the person he most hated at hogwarts but when he looked into his eyes he saw his one true love!. looking into harry's eyes reminded him why he switched to the good side!. to save lily and when she died in vain he knew he had to protect harry and the eyes reminded him!.

Yeah, I think it's about Snape and Lily!. Everyone always said that Harry looked exactly like his father but had his mother's eyes!. Snape obviously really hated James, and as such, Harry, because he looked exactly like him!. However, like you said, he was still able to see Lily in Harry and was reminded of Lily because of Harry's eyes!. And, as we all saw as he died, this made all the difference to Snape!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!.!. Snape always hate James!. If you read one of the HP books, I think the 7th one, you'll see when Snape is complaining to Dumbledore about how Harry's behaviour resembled his father's!. Then Dumbledore says, " In looks, perhaps, but his deepest nature is much more like his mother's" and at onther part in the book which is not far from the previous one, Snape produces a Patronus that is exactly like Lily's!. So, I think deep inside, he always care for Harry as much as he cares for Lily!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that is exactly it!.

also it reminds Snape of Lily's kindness and the fact that Harry is far less boisterous than his father ever was!. All Snape wants to see in Harry is his mischief, but when he sees Harry's eyes he can reminiscence about Lily and see Harry as less arrogant than he supposed!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think it went that deep!. I think that it was mainly to signify how alike Harry was to his parents, even in their death!. Everyone would comment on how alike they looked, and i guess it seemed to me like they were saying "Even though they're dead, they're still here in you!."

I believe it is a way for Harry to be linked with Lily!. Everyone says "You look just like your father!." That's his closeness with his dad, and their mischief side!. But,"you have your mother's eye"
This is Harry's special "bond" with Lily!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

i never thought about it that way!. that may be it!. not sure!. i always thought it was just something he inherited, like he got james's face!. something to remind him of his parents!. but i guess there must be some kind of significant meaning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
