Question: How are some books so popular even when they aren't very good!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
People read for lots of different reasons!.

There's a particular author I go back to all the time!. He's made a lot of money, and he's very popular!. But, if I'm honest, I know his writing, though competent, isn't great and he tends to recycle the same story over and over!. However, I like to read him when I'm depressed because he has such a positive outlook on life, even in dark situations!. So, he makes me feel better about things!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes, i agree, twilight is pretty cruddy!. its just because the little 13-year-old fangirls are like, "omg i wanna do edward!!!" and everyone makes a big hype out of a "little mormon girl who started writing about vampires"!.

well, some people might like the book even if you don't!. But, the author also has something to do with it!. It that author is really popular, and they have a really bad book, that book is still famous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because they are marketed toward 13 year old girls, and 13 year old girls are ravenous badgers who will consume anything, because daddy's wallet is an endless money portal to them!. And yes, I am mainly referring to Twilight, which was awful!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

actually, sometimes the author starts out good, but then their 'sequels' aren't as good!. but most people hope they will be as good so they dont judge them hard enough, Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because everyone has different opinions!. Meaning, some people like the book even if you don't!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
