They're not called memoirs, becuase 'memoir' means that it has to be non-fiction!. If someone embellishes a story and calls it a memoir they can get into a lot of trouble and they will be ruined forever as a writer!. But there are lots of fiction writers that in the style of memoir, that is to say, their works sound like memoirs, but everyone knows it's fiction and they call it fiction!. My favorite authors of this type are Christine Granados and Yann Martel, but there are many others!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
