Question: Harry Potter and the COS question!.!.!.help!?
I just finished reading all 7 books for the second time, and I couldn't find out what was in the box Malfoy had during Harry and Ron's visit to the Slytherin Common Room in the COS- was it the resurection stone!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Heather and Jamie B are correct in explaining how it could not be the ring!. However, there *is* a significance to the box!. It is a Christmas present to someone, and Malfoy takes it for himself - after making certain that it does not belong to Crabbe or Goyle!. In other words, it reveals part of Draco's nature, his careless greed!. *That* is its significance in the story!.

Well, i dont really think that the box had any real signifigence!. It was not the resurection stone, because the resurection stone was lost in the little shack of the gaunts before Dumbledore found it and triedto bring back his sister in harry potter's sixth year at hogwarts!. That's how he cripled his hand!. Remember!? I don't think that it was any of the other horcruxes because draco only got in tight with Voldemort after his rebirth through Harry's blood if harry's fourth year!. Nobody but Voldemort and DUmbledore even suspected that Voldemort would have horcruxes until that time!.
I believe that the box was jsut something thrown into the story by J!.K!.
Hope i helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I dont think so - the resurection stone was in the ring under the floorboards of the Gaunt house until the sixth book when Dumbledore found it, so it can't have been there in CoS!. I don't know what was in the box, but I don't think it was important or we would have heard about it later on :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think there is any real significance to what is in the box that Malfoy is holding!. It is not the resurrection stone!. The resurrection stone is the ring that Dumbledore recovers from the Gaunt house!. It was one of Voldemort's horcruxes!. This is discussed in book 6/7!. I hope this helps! Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't think anyone Draco knew about knew of the Deathly Hallows!. It's an interesting theory, though!. :)
I don't think the present was really anything of huge importance, or else it would have been explained!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There was nothing of interest in the box!. :D

Good Luck :D
