Breaking Dawn: Was anyone else surprised by how little interaction there was bet

Question: Breaking Dawn: Was anyone else surprised by how little interaction there was between Edward and Renesmee!?

He barely held her!. He seemed more intent on protecting her life than getting to know her!.

There were a few lines where it was mentioned that Edward was as dazed (or dazzled!.!.!.) by her as everyone was, but there wasn't much to back it up!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This a good question!.
I feel the same way, the interaction and relationship was definitely not there!.
Which was weird to me!. I think for both Bella and Edward it never really felt like they were actually parents, but Edward less so than Bella!. At least Meyer had Bella holding her a bunch and stuff!.
But at the same time, I felt like Meyer was trying too juggle to much, she just didn't have time to focus on Bella and Edwards relationship, much less Nessie's and her parents!. So yeah, it was weird!.

I hope she decides to do a book in Nessie's POV and allows us to understand her relationship with her parents better!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that at first there wasn't just because he really was just concerned for Bella and he was angry at himself for doing this!. But I def!. think that they had a relationship!. THey didn't show much of it because most of it was focused on Bella and her relationship with her daughter, but there were bits and pieces here and there that let you know that he and Renesmee were close too!. Remember that he held her and sang to her when Bella was changing into a vampire!. I think he was doing his best to take care of both of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes i was kind of upset, I mean the only real interaction they have is at the end where the volturi are there and he kisses her and hugs her! Renesmee barely even talks to him, she only started calling him daddy like nearish the end!. Anyways Steph should have added a little bit more of a relationship between Edward and Nessie!. yeaah, well i can see where he waas coming from!. this childs not even supposed to be there and he probably felt like she was thrust upon him!. edward never wanted to be aa dad, and now he has a daughter!? he was still in shock about the whole accidant child thing!.
edit- there waasnt enough edwaard in here at all!. it waas centered around renesmee!. there waas no sweet romance like in twilight or eclipse between edward and bella!. just a baby, and the thing that makes a baby!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hes all eyes for bella!. and they are thinking that their life will come to an end in less than two months!. so i guess id say i can't blame him!. the whole reason of bella being a vampire was so that they could be together!. id want to spend as much time as possible with her too if i were him!.but yeah!. there really SHOULD have been more contact between them!. Yeah it was like he didn't know what to do!.!.!. I guess maybe he felt guilty about wanting to get rid of her!? I was very shocked, but I'm 100 percent positive he would be the best daddy ever :D He was just so shaken up by Bella i guess, and he had to protect them both and he didn't have much time to really love her!. I agree, and i no hes likes Jacob, but i dint think he was willing to put up with so much time spent with her!.
But he could have spent time with her at the cottege i suppose!.
