Amazing!.

I love this book; when I first bought it I'd read it six times by the end of the month!.

On the Road really made an impact upon my life and I'm sure glad I read it :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it's a great book, written with the care and nuances of a poet, about grit-in-your-teeth travel at high speeds on back roads with and without girls, but always with that special driver and something to drink!.
I think in the book the driver is called Moriarty, Dean Moriarty, but am going on memory here!.
A classic!.
Everybody ought to read this one, to my way of thinking!.
Who but Kerouac would spend many years getting a re-write JUST right for publication, and have it end out sounding like stream-of-consciousness work, a stream-of-the-road!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Read it years ago when I was 15, and all I wanted to do after that was to go 'on the road' !.!.!. I have read books by him, books about him, books which mention him !.!.!. I think I was 19 when I found out that he had died of sheer exhaustion !.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It was definitely different to anything I'd read before!.!.!. I found it slow at the beginning but the ending was amazing!. Oh, and if you've just finished it, I'd suggest reading some Ginsberg, especially his poem Howl!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A masterpiece, from start to finish, and so influential!. Try Big Sur, The Dharma Bums, and Desolation Angels, also by him!. And for similar try William S!. Burroughs - Naked Lunch, and Junky particularly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
