As a writer myself!.!.!.!.the first thing you should do is a brief outline of the book!. A good book is so much more than a plot!.!.!.!.it's also about the characters!. The first thing I do is a summary of what the book is going to be about!.!.!.!.!.develop the characters!.!.!.!.!.and then I start to write!. I never go back and read anything until I am done!.!.!.!.!.I do that in the editing phase of the book!. So, this is the order you should do it:
1!. Summary of what the book is about
2!. Characters (names, personality & their connection to one another)
3!. Outline of book by chapter (this will also guide you as you go along)
4!. Edit, edit, edit!.

And ALWAYS!.!.!.!.!.!.Back up whatever you write onto a cd or disk!.
also!.!.!.never discard anything you write!.!.!.!.!.keep it in a seperate file!.!.!.!.you never know when you can use it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There is one, and only one, technique for writing a book:

Butt in chair!. Fingers on keyboard!. WRITE!.

It's very difficult, very tedious, and there will be times you want to just trash the whole thing!.

also, if you can't will yourself to write it, I would question whether it is a really good plot!. If it's that good, it should be driving you nuts until you write it down!. Yeah, it's hard work, but when you have a story in your head that's that good, it BEGS to come out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
