Question: Fantasy/Adventure Stories with a father figure (ie!. Gandalf/Brom/Dumbledore)

Anyone know other famous fantasy/adventure books where the main character is saved/trained/led/taught by a father figure, such as Gandalf in Lord of the Ring or Brom in Eragon!? Just curious!. Thanks :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
