Question: Why this title of Lord of the Flies!?
Why do you think William golding chose this title of "Lord of the Flies"!.
Is it effective!?

And if any of you could provide an alternate title what would it b any why!?

he called it Lord of the Flies because there was one part where they cut off a pig's head stuck it up with a stick!. There were a lot of flies - symbol of savagery, i suppose

I think its because the pig they called "lord of the flies" represented some sort of failed culture in which the book is trying to capture by taking civilized people and turning them into very uncivilized people in order to survive!. it is very effective i think because the pig was the symbol of the books overall meaning!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
