Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
1!. By the character it's happening to aka first-person
2!. Fiction
3!. One or two characters
4!. Faulted characters

But, of course, there are exceptions to everything, so I don't limit myself entirely to what I answered :)

EDIT: I don't mind if it switches perspectives, as long as there's a clear break between perspectives (especially if they're all in first person)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!.) I prefer third person omniscient (outside narrator who is able to describe what's happening to every other character), third person limited (outside narrator who is only able to describe the thoughts, actions, etc!. of one character) or first person (the narrator is a character in the book)!. I'm not picky; I'll read books from any perspective!.

2!.) I prefer fiction, but I do like non-fiction!. It depends on the book and what kind of mood I'm in!.

3!.) Hmm!. I really don't have a preference here, but I think I tend to read books that involve 2-4 main characters!.

4!.) Faulted, definately!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. i like third person!. you can switch perspectives and points of view, and follow the paths of different characters!. first person can seem a little limiting after that
2!. i enjoy fiction!. most nonfiction bores me to tears, although that's not something i'm proud of
3!. i like books about a group of characters!. it lends more diversity and variety to the story!.
4!. faulted, of course!. perfect characters are boring, unrealistic, and by the end of the book you end up hating them!. i believe that one of the hallmarks of good writing is the ability to create realistic characters that are both good and bad, just like real people!. being an elf/vampire/whatever else doesn't excuse you!.

hope i helped!Www@QuestionHome@Com

By the character, meaning the character is telling the story!.

Fiction!.

Two characters mainly, other people are needed though!.

I like one to be perfect, the other to have problems!.

By Stephanie Meyer: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and Midnight Sun!. I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with them all!. I answered your question by useing by knowledge of whats in these books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. I prefer third person limited!. Learn your terms :(
2!. Fiction!. Although I like when events take place i real settings and has real events worked in!. But not the kind where they try to explain the events!. Does that make sense!?
3!. Hmmm!. I think I prefer a group!. Makes the conflicts better!. Or a series where the main characters are constantly changing book to book, like Terry Pratchet's Discworld books!.
4!. All characters have faults!. Even perfection is a fault!. The generic faults are lame though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. I prefer third person novels!. I dislike first person novels!.

2!. Fiction, but informational texts are nice every now and then too!. Knowledge is power!.

3!. I'd rather have a group, but having it based on one or two makes the novel more personal for the reader!.

4!. Faulted for sure!. Perfect characters suck because they are unrealistic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. By a onlooker, but I like to hear what the characters are thinking too

2!. Fiction!. I love to imagine things outside of reality

3!. A group of characters!. Little plot lines along the main plot line make a story interesting!.

4!. Faulted! Perfect characters are boring (i!.e!. Edward and Bella!.!.) I like to see characters struggle or overcome their problems in a story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Either by the character it's happening to or a narrator

2!. Fiction

3!. Usually one or two, but if it's really well-written and not over-whelming, then a group!.

4!. I like them to have a fault!. It makes them easier to relate to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
