Question: What types of things should I do if!.!.!.!?

I wanted to become an author!?
And don't tell me I should write!. That's obvious!. But are there any hints or tips I should follow!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have a direction!.

If you intend to publish, study the market!. Read books in your genre to see what's out there!. Obviously, you don't always want to follow a trend, but this way you know what publishing houses are looking at!.

Find other writers!. Serious writers!. Listen to what they're saying about publishers and agents!.

Be open minded!. Learn from everyone, even if their sole purpose seems to be nothing but a horrible warning to others!.

Write!. Every day!. Set goals and deadlines for yourself!. Edit yourself ruthlessly!.

And stock up on chocolate!. Trust me!. You'll need it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well besides the obvious "write", you should read!. Think about what you want to write about, then read books about your subject!. You could also read books like "Writing for Dummies" or whatever that one was called!.
