If they are by the same author I wrote them in the order they come in, in order to reduce confusion!. (Note: there is a little bit of almost ever genre, not solely one) ~Onicere~Www@QuestionHome@Com I'll offer suggestions from multiple genres, since you said "any book in the world"!.!.!. For fantasy/fiction: -The Hobbit by J!.R!.R!. Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkien!. Tolkien's books are filled with creativity, wonderful and imaginative characters, intelligence, and excellent writing!. I read The Hobbit when I was a young teen, and it has since then been one of my favorite books!. If you're looking for a book with creative characters, magical and unique aspects, and adventure after adventure, then do consider reading The Hobbit!. -The Chronicles of Narnia by C!.S!. Lewis - These may be written technically for children, but even adults can enjoy this series; this series is a very fun and magical read!. And the underlying messages in these books are very profound and intelligent!. -I don't know how old you are, but when I was a little younger I enjoyed Tamora Pierce's fantasy books/series!. Her books are technically written for young adults, I believe, but even those older can enjoy them!. My favorite series of hers was always Circle of Magic, which contains four books, each one revolving around a kid with a special power!. Her series called The Song of the Lioness is also good; it's about a girl named Alanna trying to become a knight!. -Again, I don't know how old you are, but for something with more mature aspects, perhaps, you could read some of the fantasy books/series by George R!.R!. Martin!. I have not yet read any of his works, but I have spoken to many who enjoy his stuff!. His books are mainly for adults, I believe!. One of his most famous series is called A Song of Ice and Fire!. For historical fiction (most of these also contain romance that is not overbearing but that is genuine)!.!.!.these may be more enjoyable for women (since I don't know your gender), but they're still great reads: -Anne of Green Gables series by Lucy Maud Montgomery (this series has eight books overall, the first one being Anne of Green Gables)!. This series takes place in the early 1900s, and is about a hot-headed, stubborn orphan girl who finds a way of fitting into the little town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island!. As the series progresses, the main character (Anne) grows up, marries, etc!.!.!. -Anything by Jane Austen, such as Pride and Prejudice, Emma, Persuasion, etc!.!.!.Many of her books are about women of the 1800s and their attempts at fitting into society, finding romance/love, etc!.!.!. -Little Women by Louisa May Alcott - This is about four sisters in the 1860s, and it portrays how the sisters grow up, find romance/love, etc!.!.!. For suspense/thrill: -books by Dean Koontz!. His books have excellent suspense along with thrill; they are real page-turners!. I really enjoyed his book called Watchers, but he has many more, such as Velocity, Twilight Eyes, Odd Thomas, etc!. But, since I don't know how old you are, just as a warning: some of Koontz's books do contain some more mature aspects, such as some brief mature moments and choice language, so if you don't like such things in a book then choose his books carefully!. For something a little more classic, perhaps: -Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift - This is about a sailor/captain of a ship who, throughout the book, ends up in four different, interesting lands - one of the lands is inhabited by tiny people, one is inhabited by giants, one is inhabited by talking horses, and one of the lands is a floating island!.!.!. -Frankenstein by Mary Shelley -To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee -A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (and many other novels written by Dickens) Best wishes!Www@QuestionHome@Com |
