Dean Koontz wrote under an array of pen names for some time!. Why!? Because he switched genres and readers who are genre specific probably wouldn't have given those books a chance otherwise!.

I would write under a pen name!.!.Why!? I feel for Stephanie Meyers and all of her creepy fans!. I'd rather be left alone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is one of the reasons!. I just put two stories in a new anthology and I used a pseudonym for the first time - for security purposes!. Tired of being stalked!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com

Security, personal preference, writing in different genres!. Sometimes because a real name is extremely common or overly complicated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
