She got a 90 on the Mary Sue Litmus test!. Edward got a 124!.

She has not likable qualities no talent no nothing yet every guy loves her for no reason!.

She is very popular for no reason at all which in no way reflects what Meyer wishes her high school years were like at all!. *voice oozes sarcasm*

She is what I like to call a self insert!. Though generally found in the worst fanfiction self inserts are characters that are basically the person making them selves a character in their own story so that they may live out their fantasies!. Self inserts are usually found in but not limited to Harry Potter fanfiction, Eragon fanfiction, Naruto fanfiction, and other popular series or books!. In this rare case Meyer has made her own world for the fantasy self insert!.

Her clumsiness is another form of Mary Sueing known as a Moe weakness!. It is so far to the extremes that it is no longer a weakness but something used to make the character look cute and innocent!. Though generally found in anime or cartoon shows it can also be found in books!. Bella is a prime example of this!.

Yes, she's the very definition of a Mary Sue: "any author surrogate or highly-idealized character who plays a major role in a plot!." Have you ever noticed that the description of Bella describes EXACTLY what the author looks like!? I mean, exactly! And how is she the ONLY person on the planet with these "private mind" powers!? And why does her clumsiness have to be SO extravagantly debilitating!?

I could rant about how stupid Bella is, but I won't!. Let's just say I find Bella to be a whiny, hypocritical, backstabbing, obsequious, self-absorbed, snotty brat who is an awful friend, has no backbone, and is much too dependent on Edward/Jacob!. She can't stand on her own two feet without one of them there holding her up!. She can't function by herself!. She's such a damsel in distress!. She lacks a personality, too!. I can sort of understand how she would be appealing to Edward, but I can't for the life of me figure out why Jacob likes her!. She has TWO guys fighting over her!?! She doesn't even deserve ONE!
