Question: Does anyone know the name of this book!? plz help!!?

ok so does anyone know this book!?
there are these scientists and they are trying to make dogs intelligent!. so they make this one dog, but then it gets loose, and goes to this lady who has practically never been out of the house!.
then the dog goes to this other guy!.!.!.and eventually the guy and the lady meet!. And I just remember that the dog communicated by Scrabble!.!.!.
