Question: What do you think the author is trying to say in the 2nd paragraph that begins keep "ancient lands!.!.!?"
THE NEW COLOSSUS
By Emma Lazarus
Written in 1883

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightining, and her name
Mother od Exiles!. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor theat twin cities frame!.

“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
with silent lips!. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore!.
Send theres, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!."

keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp-its like telling the land to keep its well-known glory
after that, the author wants the poor, tired, unhappy immigrants to come to the united states (mighty woman with torch is statue of liberty), where they will be welcomed and free!.!.!.!.its essentially the statue of liberty calling out to the unfortunate people of famous and old world lands

colossus is a greek mythological creature, it was a giant

mighty lady with torch is statue of liberty,

im not going to copy paste, but include a picture of the statue of liberty and immigrants-shouldnt be hard to findWww@QuestionHome@Com
