If you don't have a laptop then you won't have the ability to write whenever inspiration hits you, so a notebook is a good thing to keep with you and write in!. But you'll still have to eventually transfer all you're writing onto the computer!.

My suggestion would be to carry a notebook around and use it to write whenever you feel inspired, but to also use the computer for your daily writing!. Designate an hour everyday to sit down at your computer and write, and an hour everyday to so research online and find inspiration!. Save everything you write on both the computer and a USB Flash Drive*!. That way if your computer crashes, or if you use a different computer you'll still have all the work you did and be able to keep working!. You can even scan your notebook pages to your computer & USB so you have a back-up of them as well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should do it on the computer because most probably your typing speed and endurance will increase, and you are still going to have to put it on the computer eventually!. Get a program that you like such as Word and save it often under different names, that way you will have back ups available to work with!. The days of composing a story in long hand are mostly over!. The computer has so much more function, you can have a thesaurus and dictionary on your desktop, and with the Internet, you can find quick facts!. Good luck and stick with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It all depends on what feels most comfortable to you!. Sure, doing it on a computer will make the editing process much, much easier - but if it inhibits your creativity and flow because you can't type quickly, then stick to the pen and paper!. What's important is that you get your ideas out, not that you first record them in the most convenient form for revising!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, the computer is much easier for you to fix mistakes!. I know in my experience I've gone through tons of paper (this was before we had a comp!. with a word processor) and found it very frustrating to write it down!. Helps I'm a good typer & a very sloppy & slow writer!. But there's a downside to the computer, you can't write just anywhere!. Unless you're using a laptop of course!. But if you're using a desktop only, then you can't write if you get inspiration for something while!.!.!.say on a plane!. So then you stand the chance of forgetting what you thought you should add!. There's always upsides & downsides, lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Type it, that's what I started out doing!. And now I am a very fast typer!. And ideas seem to come more easily to me when I type!. And, the computer is right in front of you when you have to look something up! And it is easier to get the font size, etc!. that you want!.
Typing works better for me because my fingers don't get cramped and it is easier to keep everything neat and organized!. And for some reason as I said, ideas come easier to me when I type!. And a year of typing increases your speed greatly!.
Much Luck!

I think writing on notebook paper is the best!. Whenever, I type I feel that everything has to be perfect and spend more time checking the thesaurus and dictionary!. One of the best story entries I wrote was in Geometry class on notebook paper, and I still have that piece of paper!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can tell you that I have done both!. I type fast, but with neck injuries and c!.t!. problems, I have come across a new option that might work for you!. Why don't you try a dictation program like Dragonspeak!? All you have to do is talk to it, and it writes down every word you say!. I haven't yet started using it because you have to have at least 2Gs on your computer to run it, but if you do, that might be the best way!. Just thought to put it out there as a quicker option!. Good Luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I had the same issue!. For a long time I hated writing on the PC because I couldn't stay focused!. But after you do it for awhile, it gets easier!. Plus, you have a lot of tools (dictionaries, thesauri, etc), at your disposal!. also, your typing will get a lot faster just because you'll be constantly practicing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i like typing because you can easily back space!.
but also bring a notebook to jot down notes or any inspiration!. i have a notebook filled with ideas and organized outlines, but i have the whole text on my computer!.

hope that helpsWww@QuestionHome@Com

Might be a good idea to get a keyboard training program, put your fingers on those home keys, and get up to speed!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
