Question: Anne Rice vs!. Stephanie Meyers!?
I just got through reading the host, and i thought it was pretty good!. I liked it better than the Twilight series!. However, I think it would have been really good if she had of died at the end!. (I love tragic romances)!. It made it a little too gushy that she lived, just my opinion!. The thing that really bothers me about Stephanie meyer is that she always makes her females weak and spineless!. I can't stand that!. Wanderer kept getting beaten all the time and she was afraid of everything!. I really couldn't stand how she wrote Jared!. How could someone be okay with punching their girlfriend (even if wasn't her soul it was still her body) in the face!? He seemed cruel and heartless, and the way Melanie went back to him makes it seem ok for a guy to do these things to woman!. Bella was the same way!. Weak and always waiting for a guys to save her!.
What is your opinion!? also, is Anne Rice a better writer!? I don't think i can read her books if the girl character is weak like Stephanie Meyers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't care for much of Anne Rice's work after 1996 but even her more recent work would blow Meyer out of the water!. You must read Rice's Vampire Chronicles if you like vampires!.
I have only read six of Anne Rice's novels and there weren't a lot of female characters!. Rice shapes and creates characters much better than Meyer could ever dream of doing!. Rice's characters have their flaws but their flaws are not annoying like that little twit Bella!. Yes, I have read Twilight!. Yes, I hated it!.

Anne Rice totally and completely rocks!. Her prose is absolutely spell-binding!. I'll admit, however, that I got a bit lost after Queen of the Damned in the Vampire Chronicles, but the first two are definitely worth reading!.
However, I find that some of her stand-alones are stellar!. Cry to Heaven and The Feast of All Saints are truly spectacular novels!. Highly recommended!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Anne Rice is defiantly a better writer, but shes been around longer!. Stephenie Meyer is equally amazing, she has major potential!. I love both of their work really!.!.!.
If you want a female heroine, then check out Vittorio the Vampire!. Its part of the Vampire Chronicles!.!.!.shes not a heroine per-say but she does save the guy!.!.!.!.lol check it out!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can not even compare the literary genius that is Anne Rice to the mediocre stories of Stephenie Meyer!. They are like night and day!.

Anne Rice books are very well written, even though I don't like her latest books!.

I really understand what you are getting at with Host!. I dislike all the self-sacrifice and mooning!.
But I still like her books and read them!.
