Dean Koontz: One of my favorite authors!
I loved Funhouse, The Bad Place!. also Odd Thomas, though that's not as much "horror!."

John Saul has written some excellent horror, as has Robin Cook!.

Alex Kava has some gruesome stuff, though that's technically crime thrillers!.

Stephen King: Salem's Lot is scariest, IMHO!.

For classic horror, nothing compares to Edgar Allen Poe

If you like horror, you might want to go down the road of another genre: The Thriller Novel!. I'm more a fan of thrillers than horror!. Thriller novels often mix horror and suspense with action and mystery!. Some recommendations there:

Harvest by Tess Gerritson (or any of her other medical suspense novels)

Anything by James Patterson (Alex Cross series especially good)

I'd also point you toward Dan Brown, David Baldachi, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
