Position:Home>Books & Authors> Why did Harper Lee write "To Kill a Mockingbird"?Question: Why did Harper Lee write "To Kill a Mockingbird"!? I need sources!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Many details of "To Kill a Mockingbird" are apparently autobiographical!. Like Lee, the tomboy Scout is the daughter of a respected small-town Alabama attorney!. The plot involves a legal case, the workings of which would have been familiar to Lee, who studied law!. Scout's friend Dill is supposed to have been inspired by Lee's childhood friend and neighbor, Truman Capote, while Lee is the model for a character in Capote's first novel, Other Voices, Other Rooms!. go to wikipedia - http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Harper_Lee or - http://www!.kirjasto!.sci!.fi/harperle!.htm OR But I think we can learn a lot about her by reading TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD!. I think it is more autobiographical than we realize --- I suspect that she is Scout, that Atticus Finch is her father, and that her dear friend Truman Capote is Dill!. That is probably all she wants us to know, and all we need to know!. the website : http://www!.teenreads!.com/authors/au-lee-!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com The same reason anybody writes a book!.
