i know i'm going to get thumbs down for this, but EDWARD AND BELLA!?! are you serious!? their relationship is based purely on looks and smell!. it's sickening to read about, because bella depends on edward for everything, and edward controls bella like his own private marionette!.

i'd have to say my all-time favorite is!.!.!.*drumroll please*!.!.!.

elizabeth bennet and mr!. darcy!. they overcome their original prejudices and their pride (hence, pride and prejudice) to find respect and trust in the other!.

i also love faramir and eowyn from lord of the rings, but maybe that's just because they're two of my favorite characters and it was nice to see them happy together after all the bad stuff that happened to them :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

oh man!.!.!.hard question!

While I did love Elinor and Edward from Sense and Sensibility, I'm not sure they can be called the greatest!.

I disagree with Romeo and Juliet!. Romeo spent the whole first act whining that he'd never love again after Rosaline rejected h8im, but when he saw Juliet he was acting like I'd never been in love! EVER! They rushed into things SO quickly!. Plus, she was so young! And if Romeo hadn't overreacted, he would have been alive to recieve Juliet!. They didn't really die for each other---their dying wasn't helping their love!.!.!.

In modern times, I love Edward and Bella
and Cabel and Janie from Wake
and Howl and Sophie!.

*sigh* And I always kind of wanted Estella to turn around and love Pip!.!.!. (Great Expectations, Dickens)Www@QuestionHome@Com

It might sound weird but I like Scarlet and Rhett!. The timing was all wrong but there was definitely chemistry between them!.

I have a great interest in the Medieval literature, so I would also include Tristan and Iseut and Lancelot and Guinevere!. Abelard and Heloise!.

How about Odysseus and Penelope!? She was waiting for him faithfully for decades and rejected all the suitors!.

Cosette and Marius

The Beaty and the BeastWww@QuestionHome@Com

Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy!.!.!.in silents at first, then transfered easily to talkies!. Best prat falls, sight gags, nothing more simple than their dialog!. They are within the bedrock of every city of note around the world!. Every so often they make the transit of theaters!. And it takes nothing analytical, nothing but watching and listening!. And they are very funny!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jane Eyre and Mr!. Rotchford
Emma and Mr!. Knightly
Elizabeth Bennet and Mr!. Darcy
Catherine and Heathcliff
