If you did a document a chapter you would have thirty documents you would need to shift through while editing and checking back on facts and information!. It is much easier just to have it on a single document!. I just start a new page with each chapter, but really all you need to do is make sure the chapter is labeled as a chaptr and it doesn't matter

I usually put background information, notes, a short prequel, dates and mini charcater biographies on a seperate document!. Microsoft Vista has a nifty little program that allows you to have a project folder type thing to allow you to have everything in one over all document, just with little tabs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I leave them in a single document, although I do have three different documents!. One document is the entire rough draft of my novel, the second document was several chapter rewrites, and the third document is my final rewrite!.

When I do chapters, I start the chapter on a new page and go seven spaces down!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I leave them on a single document!. I just space down a few, write Chapter whatever, and then space down a few more and begin writing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
