It depends on what you're aiming for!. If you aim to publish the book a professional editor might be worth the money (I can't expect there'd be any out there that would do it for free)!. Otherwise, ask friends, family, and teachers if they'd be willing to read some (or all) of it!. Even people who don't know much about writing or grammar/mechanics can help you find things to improve--you just need to know to ask the right questions!. For example, a reader can tell you whether their attention wandered in a certain section, or if some aspect wasn't very clear!. Of course, that leaves it up to you to figure out how to fix it!.

Another option is to try writing forums on the internet!. There are many out there, and they all vary on the types of critique you will receive!. I've found a lot of them don't have people who write in-depth critiques; often you'll find people saying simply that they liked (or disliked) it without any reasons as to why they felt that way!. Two, however, that often have good critiques are http://forums!.megatokyo!.com/index!.php!?sh!.!.!. and http://locution-zine!.com/forums/

Just remember to bring a thick skin!. ^_^Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, start with friends and family who might be interested in reading it for you - anyone who is a frequent reader will be able to tell you if it flows well or is too long or find consistency &/or spelling errors!.

But, if you're looking for a professional to help you, don't look for another writer - look for an editor!.

good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thanks for asking!. I am flooded with requests!. Usually what I can do is read the first chapter and critique it!. I can't really do anymore!. I am not THAT kind of an editor!. I am an unabridged editor on occasion which is a completely different thing!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com
