Question: OK, I happen to have writers block, REALLY badly for a story about vampires!.!?
Ok so, The main character, Gwendolyn Eileen James, Lives with her Aunt Maggie In england!. Well Her aunt, a Vampire, wanted to get rid of her so she called up some vampire friends to kidnap her, and they did!. Thats where the story starts!. Gwen is running through the woods -she escaped from them- and thinks she can avoid them by going to this giant graveyard near her home, and vampires can't enter there!. But when she gets there, there is a vampire who can walk around in the graveyard, unlike the other ones!.
He's not bad or anything!. But after Gwen encounters Elliot (the vampire in the graveyard) she returns home to find out that her aunt was having an affair, so she runs away!. (trying to make this short) Anyway her aunt finds her at this old playground thats haunted by ghosts, because Elliot followed her and told her aunt where she was (how he new Maggie is a mystery) and I dont know what to write now!. If You can, I really need an idea or two!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bear with me!.!.!.I'm letting my imagination loose on you!.!.!.;)
It seems that Elliot was enlisted to "help" find Gwen by her Aunt, ignorant of the fact that Gwen was in an abusive situation!.
I would posit that Elliot isn't really familiar with Maggie, but rather was contacted by her through a network of vampires in the community!. I would like to think that Elliot's intentions were misguided, but generally *good*!.
I would also think that Maggie basically gave Elliot a sob story about her poor, wayward niece, wanting her found for her own purposes!.
Now, the question is: How will Elliot react to the knowledge that he has just helped Maggie find Gwendolyn, and put her in danger!? Will he be angry!? Will he want to defend Gwen, or will he think Maggie is within her rights!? If he does want to protect Gwen, then what are his options!? Is he powerful enough to overcome Maggie and her friends/minions!? Will his ability to walk on hallowed ground aid him!? Does he have an affinity with the ghost in the playground - can he enlist the aid of the ghosts themselves!?
Now!.!.!.you also might need to explain later in the story how it is that Elliot has this special ability!? If vampires are soulless, did he retain his soul!? If vampires are not soulless - what makes them unable to walk on hallowed ground and how does Elliot become different from that!? Perhaps vampires control powers of magic!. Did Elliot find a way to use that to help him access something that makes him different from the others!? Is he old or young as a vampire!?
Now, I hope this helps get you thinking! I often think that the best way to write when you're at a loss is to start answering questions like that! Questions that readers will ask, things they will wonder about and want explained!. I can't stand a story that ends without explaining everything!
also, it sound like I would love to read what you have so far so if you want a proof reader, I'm here!!! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Gwendolyn ducks into a book store and a professor is doing a presentation on a book of vampire myths and legends!. During the question and answer period the teacher figures out that Gwendolyn knows a lot more about vampires than most people!. The two have coffee and Gwendolyn finds out more about vampires in general and also a little bit about activity in the surrounding area!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

um!.!.!.publishers won't even look at manuscripts about vampires anymore since there's so many of them!.

sorry!.!.!.!.if you want to write it for fun that's cool but don't get your hopes up on it being published!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure what direction to point you in, but try reading the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison!. Your writing style is similar!. She may give you a bit of inspiration!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you're having writer's block about vampires, try writing about something else entirely; it just might help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Maybe there is a point to you getting writer's block!? There are SO many vampire stories out now that publisher's won't even look at your book, even if you are the next Hemingway (or Austen!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Put some romance in btwn Elliot and Gwen!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think that you should have one of the "vampire friends" to catch up with her!. You could also have a mini fight scene where the vampire is trying to bite Gwen, to turn her into a vampire or whatever!.!.!. (not sure if Gwen is a vampire at all though!.!.!.)
Oh and you should have a section where they find her again (after she's escaped a few times), and she gets locked in a cellar or somewhere where she can't really get out!.
That's pretty much all of the ideas I have for a vampire themed story!.!.!. so good luck :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you answer some questions about the story it might jump start your writing again!. Try for detailed essay answers!. Here we go:

So is Gwen a daywalker!?
Is her Aunt part of the black court (blood suckers)or the red (sexual vampires)!?
Are there some politics going on!?
Why can't the vampires cross into the graveyard!?
In your story what can stop or hinder a vampire!?
The ghosts in the playground are they haunting it or protecting it from something else!?
Why can Gwen see the ghosts!?
Did this talent just show up or has she been a meduim for her whole life!?
Why is she living with her Aunt!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have always found it helpful to ask my characters what they are going to do next!.

If you have well-developed characters, it should be simple: just find a time when you won't be interrupted (I usually do this while exercising), sit the main characters down and say, "All right, now what are you planning to do!?"

This won't work for everyone, but I have always found this to be the best (and often most surprising way) to continue a story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the JOker!. Put the vamp stuff away for now and try to think of something more original!. Publishers and agents are actually adding the words NO VAMPIRES to their submission guidelines!. They have seen it all!. Things like this are cyclic!. Anne Rice books were hot several years ago, now Twilight !.!.!. the next big vampire book is at least 10 or 15 years away!. Be original!
