The Letter wasn't to Snape it was to Sirius along with the picture of Harry on his toy broom that Sirius had bought him for his birthday!.

Snape found it and tore the photo so he could have the part with Lily on and he kept the last page with Lily's name and 'With Love' on it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The letter wasn't to Snape, he just was ramsacking sirius's room and found it because it had her love on it and he was head over heels for her *it said love, lilly* It said that Dumbledore had the invisibility cloak, Bathhild bagshot *author of a history of magic* was telling them stories about Dumbledore but they *james and lilly* didn't believe he could be friends with Grindlewald, it also said stuff about christmas just passing, james not liking not being able to go many places, and harry enjoying the toy broom sirius had bought him!. It also had a tidbit about their cat!. It included a picture of Harry flying the toy broomWww@QuestionHome@Com

I can't remember the exact letter but it describes the happy times lily and james are having around christmas with baby harry and it tells sirius thank you for the mini broom that harry is soaring around the room in constantly!. (first half in beginning of book)!. the part that was cut off says that Lily cannot believe that Dumbledore was ever good friends with Gellert Grindelwald!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It wasn't a letter to snape, it was a letter to sirius!. It was just saying what was going on, Harry's birthday, stuff about the order, it was just a letter that said news!. snape kept the letter because it said 'love, lily'!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
