Question: Have you read 'The Boy in the Striped Pajamas!?'!?

Did you guys think that the ending was sad!? I did, I read it for summer reading (i just finished it) and I am crying so hard right now!. Did they die because they burned them!? I am just crying so hard right now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They were led into a gas chamber, as Auschwitz was infamous for!. I was so bummed when I finished that book, I threw it across the room!.

But I've read reviews on the book saying that it was a 'digusting' ending, which I completely disagree with!. Yes, it was a terrible way to end the book, but it's a reality!. The author didn't sugarcoat it or soften it up!. He gave the reality of what happened to innocent children back then, and I think putting Bruno in the mix shows how easily it could've been anyone's child being murdered (and referring to Auschwitz as 'Out-With' was a brilliant touch, showing the child's perspective of it all!.)

It's definitely a haunting book!. I couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks after!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have to say, I did NOT expect the book to end with Bruno and his friend getting gassed!. I literally dropped the book when I read that Bruno died!. Yes, I think he was in a gas chamber!. It was incredibly sad, especially when Bruno thinks they are going someplace "warm" and "away from the rain!." Bruno had become such a lovable character, and he was so innocent being nine!. I was sure that Bruno would help his friend escape!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
