Question: Do book agents have secretaries!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Most have some kind of support staff, although the term "secretary" isn't usually the job title!. More often it's "administrative assistant" in a typical office (of any type, not just literary agencies)!.

Agents need staff to schedule meetings, handle incoming and outgoing mail, prepare correspondence, answer phones and screen calls, and all the usual secretarial duties!. Depending on how busy the office is and on the person's education and other qualifications, they may even do some initial screening, rejecting manuscripts sent without having been requested, or those with atrocious grammar--ones they know the agent would not consider!.

I'm curious--why do you ask!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
