I looked at the clock!. 6:40!. It was my first day as a vampire, and Edward had promised me to take me hunting at sunset!. It shouldn’t be long now!. It had to be soon and he knew I had to go soon!. All day I felt as if I was dying of thirst!. My eyes as bright and as red as I ever thought they could get!. He would of taken me earlier but it was hunting season and he knew there would be hunters out and he didn’t and I didn’t wanna take the chance of killing someone!. I was sitting in our room as he walked through the door!.
“Bella love, are you ready!?”
“Uh…!.!.” I wasn’t paying attention!. “ Ya!” I lied!. I knew I would never really be ready for this!.
“ Good!. Were just waiting for Alice and we should be going!.”
“ Alice!?” I was confused!. Alice was going hunting with us!? She was hunting all day yesterday with Jasper!.
“ And Jasper and Emmett and Carlisle,” he said looking at me like I should already know!. “ they’re all coming with us!.”
I could feel the expression on my face!.
Confused!.
I guess he could read my face pretty easily because he answered without me even saying anything!.
“ Don’t you remember!? Newborns have a lot of strength and if you were to smell a human, we would need to hold you back!.”
Now I remembered!. It was weird knowing that I had more strength than Edward for once!.
Then I jumped as Alice barged in!. “ Were all in the car waiting!. Lets go!”
I hoped in the backseat!. Carlisle was driving, Jasper in the passenger and Edward and Alice on either side of me!. I was squished!. But I knew the reason!. One smell of a human and I could easily break the windows, jump through, and attack my prey!.
The car ride seemed like hours!. When we finally got to the forest, I was relived!. I could easily smell the deer and the bears!. Not wanting to wait, I dashed into the woods!. In a split second, an arm was around my waist!.
“ Slow down love,” I didn’t want to!. I wanted to taste the warm blood sliding down my throat!. “ we need to be near you at all times!.”
I nodded!.
“ Okay!. Do you smell that!?”
“Deer!.” Now I was really thirsty!.
Edward looked at me with his crooked smile!. “ Lets go!.”
And with that we ran through the woods!. At lightning speed!. And with my surprise, I never fell down!. Not once!.
Ahead of me I saw two deer!. Edward let go of my hand and jumped through the air and landed on the largest deer in a catlike form!. I copied him and did the same!.
I watched him as he quickly broke the neck of the deer and once again I did the same!.
I did not have to watch Edward to know the next move!. I quickly sunk my teeth into the deer and began to quench my thirst!.
Never before have I felt so relived…!.so pleased to feel the warm blood slip down my throat!. When I was human, I could live with never seeing or smelling blood!. But now, I would never be able to live without it!. As I drank the deer dry, I had realized what Ive done and quickly froze!.
To see it lying there, cold, still, dead, it made me feel guilty and it made me feel like a monster!. I crawled over to a fallen tree!. Pulled my knees to my chest and stared!. I felt my eyes watering and I tried not to cry!. But it was too hard and I just let it out!. Edward walked over!. Pulled me into his arms and rocked me back and forth!.
“ Its okay love!.” He said as he kissed the top of my head!.
We sat there for a while just rocking back and forth, when finally he pulled me around so that my face was close to his!. He kissed my on the forehead and stared into my eyes!.
“ Do you want to go home!?” he asked as he kissed my forehead again!.
“No!.” He looked at me with a surprised look on his face!.
“ This is the lifestyle I chose and I have to deal with the consequences!.”
“ Bella, you don’t have to!. We can come back tomorrow!.”
I put one finger on his lips!. “ No!. I want to stay!. I want to stay, here, with you!.”
With that he gently kissed me on the lips!.
We both stood up and began to run again!. I was on my third deer when I smelt something!. Something delicious!. Something I couldn’t have!.
