Well, firstly, Edward is scared to death he will hurt her!. He could crush her skull with one finger, you have to know that to understand it!. If he becomes overcome with passion, he might forget to control himself!.

The other reason, that hasn't been discussed in the books, but Meyers has said, is that the sperm is actually replaced with venom!. All bodily funcitions are replaced in that way, so having sex would actually change Bella!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A) Being he has amazing strength and would crush her like a bug (making me root for them to do it NOW)
B) Meyers probably doesn't exactly support sex before marriage, so it throws a bit of her morals at us!.
C) (and this maybe wrong) Edwards dead!.!.!.This is something that bothers me about her Vampires!. Vampires are dead, they have no bloodflow, so they cant have sex, atleast not the males!. Drinking blood is a erotic for them!. Thats there sex!.
D) Sex is something that can easily get out of control!. Edward being obviously unstable would probably end up killing her on accident when the 'pleasure' got to great!. Either by ripping her throat out or some such thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
