to be honest, i never finished the Kite Runner!. it wasn't bad, but for some reason it didn't make me want to keep reading!. i'm so glad you like 2 read!. when i started reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder books in class when i was five and a half(really, I have the date in Little House in the Prarie that my parents bought when they heard i was reading it in class) and the cover said something like reading level: age 14!. so!.!.!.i went through a period of boring books and no good authors but i think i've found some pretty good ones!.
--Irving Stone does biographies but they're not ur typical biography!. they have lots of imagery, feeling, conversation, and they're just amazing! i recommend, in this order, The Agony and the Ecstasy(Michelangelo), Love is Eternal(Mary Todd Lincoln--it's not sappy, despite the title", and then Lust for Life or something like that(Van Gogh)!. i think those are the only ones i've read!. i'm waiting 4 the one that's about van gogh's letters to his brother, theo!. They also Ran, about almost-presidents is good, but not nearly as good as when Stone focuses on 1 person!.
and I know --Tolstoy looks old and boring, but War and Peace is Good! it's written in short paragraphs and the characters are good!. I read Anna Karenina after that, and i thought it was written similarly, but w/out the war, and a larger love interest, so not as interesting!. but some people think it's brilliant!.
--Dean Koontz is good; I've only read his Odd Thomas books, but they're good!. They get a little graphic!. not in a sex way!. well, not in a living sexual way!. there are some creepy murderers!. but Odd is great--i just finished the 4th in the series, Odd Hours and it was amazing, if a little more confusing than the first 3!. he has 2b writing a 5th, yay!
--Agatha Christie--short, but she fits in as much plot, suspense, and action as a normal writer's 1000 pages!. very, very good mysteries!. she was known as the Queen of Mystery, or Dame Agatha (knighted by the Queen)
--john grisham is ok, i liked the Firm and the Broker but hated the Pelican Brief!. but i do love pelicans!. They're so adorable!
i hope you read some of these! they're some of my favorite authors and I hope you like them as much as i do!
btw, stay away from James Patterson, especially Kiss the Girls!. I guarantee you won't like it!.
btw2, I'm currently reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, it was recommended 2 me but idk if it's good yet!. & sorry this is so long:PWww@QuestionHome@Com
