Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: laurent is not the head of the pack!. James was but he wanted to stay "inconspicuous" so he had laurent pretend to be the leader!. James wants to kill bella because he is a tracker!. she is like prey to him!. and, once the hunt starts, it doesn't stop till she's dead, *or in this case, he's dead* i don't think laurent was following them, i'm pretty sure it was james!. They trusted laurent because he promised to honor the fact that the cullens didn't hunt humans!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Laurent!? He's a vampire!. Vampires either have covens or families!. Werewolves have packs!. Sam Uley is the leader of the pack!. Jacob was supposed to be originally, but he refused because he didn't want to believe that he was actually a werewolf and he didn't want to take all the responsibilities!. James is the only one who wants to kill Bella because Victoria and Laurent are not really that addicted to human blood!. Bella's blood is so empowering to James the way it is to Edward!. But to Edward her blood is love and James is kill!. When Edward killed James, Victoria's mate, Victoria asked Laurent to avenge James for her, by killing Bella!. Since Edward killed James, Victoria thought killing Bella will be fair!. Mate for mate!. They trusted Laurent because when James was set out to kill Bella, Laurent left the coven because he was against killing humans!.
