As far as best, thats speculative, I love Eddings but others equally can't stand him!. I don't care for King but others think he is the best thing since LoTR!. You have a list of serious Epic Fantasy Classics, they are classics for a reason, I'd try them all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definitely Pratchett's Discworld and King's The Dark Tower!. I've read the entire Dark Tower cycle, and I highly recommend it along with Eyes of the Dragon as a companion piece!. I've also read most of Discworld, and it's hilarious!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Three from your list

# 6 (One of the best series out there)
# 1 (Very good in depth story and charactors)
# 16 (Great portal fantasy with some known figures poping in)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Add The Modern Faerie Tales by Holly Black (Tithe, Valiant, Ironside)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can read them in any real order, as one series does nto build on the otherWww@QuestionHome@Com

Have you considered Frank Herbert's Dune series!?

Good luck and happy reading!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Surprisingly, I have read only two of these!.

#7 is *excellent* - a brief description here, be aware of adult content (in the book, not in my description)

Naturally, I also read #9 - the biggest let-down in sequels ever, not worth reading twice!. The story is pale in comparison to the first, and the writing style is completely changed!. Maybe he was slacking on the second series!.!.!.but I do not recommend it!. "Mediocre", despite the first trilogy being thoroughly "excellent!."
