Question: Permission to use someone's name!?
If you write a book and profitted from it, do you have to have permission to use someone's name!? And if that person you write about is deceased, don't you have to ask a family member!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

That depends on what you say about the person!. If the main character in your book mentions that his favorite actor is Daniel Craig, no, you don't have to get Daniel Craig's permission!. If you write a non-fiction book about a real person (living or dead), though, and you say things about them that are untrue and negative, they (or their families) can sue you for slander!. If your book is clearly fiction, you have some wiggle room!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
