Question:

Ok well I read the first 3 novels 'A Game of Thrones', 'A Clash of Kings', and 'A Storm of Swords' and I am half way through 'A Feast for Crows'!.

I absolutely love this series, but I am worried about how long it is taking the author to finish the 5th novel 'A Dance with Dragons'!. I believe it is quite possible he could pass away sometime before he finishes the series which is supposed to have 7 novels altogether!.

Does this make anyone else worried!? I have invested a lot of time in this series and I find it to be the best fantasy I have ever read, even better than LOTR!. It would be an absolute shame if it never gets finished!

I just worry about Martin's health, he is 60 years old and appears to be quite overweight!. Considering how long these novels are and take to write, it could take another 10 years for him to complete the series!. I have stopped reading "A Feast for Crows" simply because at this point I dont even know if he will finish 'Dance' let alone the 6th and 7th books!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i just started the series last week and I'm hooked!. I'm hearing this for the first time and i have to admit, it definitely has me worried!. i think George RR martin should make a journal with the plot outlined for the last two books so if he dies and another author writes the book for him they'll have the guidelines to follow!. also i hear films will be made of the series so there's something to look forward to!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yeah, it's a worry i've heard bandied about!. wikipedia makes no mention of overt illness, however, and sixty's not all that old, in this day and age!. he seems intent on doing it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I completley agree! Look what happened with Robert Jordan!. He died before the finished the 12th and last book of the wheel of time series, and now there is another author writing it!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
