it's just called dune, and it's about a desert planet that exports this stuff called spice which bends space to make travel faster, and it's about this guy who is the son of a leader of a faction house, who compete with another faction called house harkonan, and that's all i'll say i don't want to ruin it for you!. and i think there are about 7 books in the series, but i'm not sure because the authors son wrote some!.

there are 2 movies made of it, the one with sting, and one produced by artisan which is much more true to the book but it's like 8 hours long!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I started reading this book in the 1969/70 in the bush of the central highlands in Vietnam!. I wasn't done when I had to leave and returned to the man I borrowed it from!. Wasn't untill a couple of years later I read it from start to finish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first novel in the series by Frank Herbert is simply called "Dune"!. It's mainly about politics and survival on a desert planet!. Great reading if you begin with the first book!.
