Question: Question about books and fictitious characters!.!?

In the front of my books, it always says something like 'All characters in this book are fictitious and if they seem like a person in reality, it is a coincidence!.' Well, what if the characters really are based on someone in reality!? Would the author get in trouble or something!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most character are loosly based on somebody the author knows!.They make the disclaimer to prevent possible lawsuits from someone who thinks they were made to look foolish!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Based upon!? No!. It is still their idea!.
