I thought it was rather boring, and I just thought it was a waste of time to read!. The only reason I read it was because my teacher recommended it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Likely any novel that introduces new words to our lexicon(dictionary) is something to behold!. I thought the book is his best work, which is to say much, one of the better 20th century novels!. As with each of his novels he examines society and or potential society with a somewhat novel perspective!. While his characters ware rather plot driven they make good vehicles for Orwell's philosopical rants!. This book is one of my favorite depictions of a future dystopia!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Shocked and depressed by the first read - though the Appendix did give me some second thoughts (and rightly, too, I now find)!.
Then I puzzled over the weird plotting and the less attractive sides of Winston Smith's character!.
My tortured sado-masochistic snob George Orwell is a lot more interesting than the conventional plaster saint of social democracy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The first time I read that book, it was from an original print that I found in the back of my library!. The cover was yellowed with age, the spine was broken in, making the pages a breeze to turn!. There were a dozen or so coffee stains all over it from where others had enjoyed it over the years!. I actually tried to buy that copy from the library!.

They wouldn't sell it though :| Friggen library!. I would have bought them a new copy :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

It gave me the creeps, and I have re-read it twice!.!.!.can't figure out why it draws me back!. It amazes me to look at the context and time period in which it was written!. Think about it!. How many people could have looked ahead to what is going on now, during that time!?

I thought it was very bleak and draining, which is why I love it so much!. It also made me more skeptical of governments and media!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think it is far more truth than fiction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Great!. It's just a shame that the government is using it as blueprints!. ;)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't tell you honestly, the government is monitoring our responses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
