The Lois Lowry book mentioned by the previous poster are excellent!. Ann Rinaldi is an author that writes a lot of historical fiction!. Her books are very authentic!.!.!.but tweaked to give a good story line!. The main protagonist is almost always a young (about 11 years old to about 18 or so) girl who is facing some kind of dilema!. She has one that is called "A Break with Charity" I think that's the right one! which is all about the Salem Witch Trials!.

Another series that is good and is kind of science fiction-y is the Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer!. Another good fantasy type series is the Redwall series by Brian Jacques!.

I also have an old stand-by favorite "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!." A series of four books written by Douglas Adams!. Absolutely hysterical, more than a little ridiculous and a lot of fun!. Douglas Adams also wrote two books about a detective named Dirk Gently!. also very good I think!.

One final author that I like a lot is Chris Crutcher!. Main protagonists are usually teenage boys, dealing with a variety of issues and typically involved in sports to some degree or another!.

That's probably more than you have any desire to hear about so I'll stop now!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would highly recommend the Talent series by Anne McAffrey!. I think there are 8 in the series now!. Actually anything by Anne McAffrey she is a fantastic writer!. If you are into dragons but not an Eragon fan then she writes an amazing series about dragons!. Not to mention Acorna who is a human/unicorn!.

There is also the Dark Hunter novels by Sherilyn Kenyon, without knowing your age they may/may not be appropriate!. They are about the different Pantheons and set in today's world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is a WARNING!. You are already addicted to books, and if you continue to read at the same pace, by the time you are my age (57) people will start calling you a PROFESSIONAL reader even when you don't make any money by reading!. I suggest the time has come for you to 'move' out of the 'children's section' of the book-store/library and move to the adult fiction !.!.!. try reading science fiction/fantasy AND mystery !.!.!. and I am NOT going to 'recommend' any books to you, but will tell you the names of a few of my 'favorite' authors !.!.!. Robert A!. Heinlein (now deceased, but you can still read his books and he wrote several for 'young adults' and older teens), Isaac Asimov, Peter F!. Hamilton, Iaian M!. Banks !.!.!. those are sf/fant!. In mystery, try Lillian Jackson Braun (The Cat Who !.!.!. series are GREAT FUN), Elizabeth George, Martha Grimes, and (of course) Agatha Christie!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a young adult/teen I recommend Meg Cabot's young adult books!. She is the best author!. also best selling!. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), Jinx, Airhead and more!. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her!.

Stephenie Meyer's book The Host is really good!. I finished the books early last fall!. You're lucky you don't have to wait so long!. I've read all the Twilight books many times and they're just as good the second time even though you know what happens!. So if you can't find anything else to read you could always read them again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, that depends on what type of book you want to read!. But here are a few suggestions!.!.!.

For a fun, teen friendly, easy read, I would recommend:

'Prep' -an insightful, relatable story told by a young girl named Lee Fiora from the midwest who is accepted into an elite boarding school on scholarship!. The story goes on to describe how Lee is a misfit in what becomes her own home, and her futile attempts to fit in and earn the love of her crush, Cross Sugarman!.

'Ophelia'- the heart-wrenching tale of Hamlet, told from his young wife's point of view, and her journey to not only earn his love but later to free herself from his memory!.

As far as the classics are concerned,:

'Gone With the Wind' -A dramatic tale of unrequited, impossible love, life-long friendship, failed marriage and failed life, set in the tumult of the Civil War in the south!. Starring Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler

'Vanity Fair' - the delightfully naughty tale of mischievous Becky Sharp and her quest to marry a rich man

'Jane Eyre'- the story of Jane Eyre's life, beginning with her living with her cruel aunt and cousins, being shipped to boarding school, and eventually taking a post as governess and falling in love

For a slightly more intense read, I would recommend:

'A Great and Terrible Beauty'- Set in turn of the century England, at a girls boarding school, filled with mystery, suspense, and drama

'Blood Red Horse' the first in a trilogy of books that tell of two brothers and their quest to not only win the heart of the elder brother's betrothed, Ellen, but to gain honor in battle!. Set during the Crusades!.

For fantasy, I would recommend:

'Quest for a Maid'- the story of a girl whose witch sister kills a king for money, and her quest to bring the rightful queen home to rule

'The Minister's Daughter'- a dark tale spun out of the harsh dusts of the witch era, told from the point of view of a misunderstood girl named Nell, and her associations with the supernatural, and also from the point of view of two sisters, the daughters of the village minister!. The older of which becomes pregnant and blames it on witchcraft, the younger and her dark knowledge of half-truths!. A truly riveting read!.

And lastly, for a real life story:

'The Glass Castle'- a young girl and her siblings growing up with her irresponsible, crazy parents, who don't work, living in squalor and poverty, their struggles to survive, and her father's unfulfilled promise of a Glass Castle that they will all live together in one day!. A touching and inspiring story, but at the same time, extremely sad!.!.!. An excellent book!.

Hope this helped you some!!
