What about a girl coming of age during WW2!. Say maybe her husband of a short time went to war!. Now the young lady has to go to work for the first time!. (there is a lot of historical info on the subject)

Ever wondered what it was like to be a woman scientist in the early 1900's when science was booming!. Maybe she was a researcher finding a cure for a bacteria or virus!. Maybe the cure was never found but she pioneered other discoveries!. (You can find out about other women scientists on line!. )

Make up a story based on historical facts!. You should be able to make it come to life with a little research and a lot of creativity!.

The woman can be torn between family and a traditional woman's life or her career!. Many women still face those issues so it would still be interesting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

generally to write a great book, the idea has to grab you!. You can't go looking for it- it finds you!.
However, for historical fiction I would suggest writing a novel revolving around the history of a lesser-known country, or a history that isn't really known!. Stay away from, for example, China, the US, England, France, Russia and other places of the sort, because there are too many books like it already!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think that if you really want to write a book from the heart, nothing i could tell you would help!. but, i can sort of give you a push to start with!.

if you like historical fiction, ask yourself these questions!.!.!.

1!. what period of history are you interested in most!? renaissance, middle ages, roman empire!? it's even better if you write about something that most people haven't yet, to make it original!.

2!. are you going to make an alternate history!? (i!.e!. change one event that changes the whole future- napoleon wins @ waterloo, for example) or is it going to be what really happened in history!?

3!. do your research!. nothing's worse than a high octane car chase in 18th century england or a middle ages princess who says 'what's up' to her 'homies'!. (this applies to your settings, dialogues, characters, plots, etc!.)

Now if you had an idea for a great invention that could further man kind and someone said to you and your friends "Hey, anyone think of an invention lately!? Cause I want to make one but, I can't think of one" Would you fork over your idea for nothing!? No!! That my friend would be stupid!. So hopefully no unsuspecting Y!A person will give away THEIR idea for a novel!.

You don't chose to write a book, and find ideas!. You find ideas that make you chose to write a book!. Writing is all about passion, and if you can't find enough passion to think of an idea then you're probably not going to write a good book!.
