The books are nearly always better in my opinions, for some reason they always change it way too much for the film, sometimes taking out the essence of a story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends with which medium you experienced the work first!. My mother could never bring herself to like Disney's Peter Pan because she had read the original "Peter Pan and Wendy" and also seen the play first!. I loved the Disney Peter Pan but never liked the Disney "Mowgli" because I had read the Jungle Book stories by Rudyard Kipling before!. But my nieces and nephews saw Mowgli as a cartoon first so would say they preferred it as a film!.
It is very rarely the case that a book can be translated well into film - there's always some detail missing!. But Harry Potter was very, very well done and so was Lord of the Rings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The books are usually better!. They allow you to interact with the story more, because as you're reading you're visualizing the scenes in your head and interpreting them in your own unique way!. Films are the lazy option, everything is spoon fed for you!. They don't require any imagination!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Books are better because they have the full story, whereas the movie of the book won't include everything!. But films like Harry Potter have been great anyway, even though not everything is shown from the books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on your imagination though i think as i know a lot of people that hated the Harry Potter books but love the films!.

Books! The movies leave out so much detail AND lose half of the meaning of the book, plus they always change it around!. Harry Potter did ok, and so did Lord of the Rings, but they were NOTHING!!!!! like the books!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
