This sounds like an essay or exam question! In case it is, I won't answer in detail, but suggest that you examine the development of the relationship with Lady Macbeth, who initially is the driving force for Macbeth's ambition!. There comes a point where her remorse and regret overcomes her and Macbeth becomes the more dominant of the two, twisting and turning because there is no way out!. The other character trapped, in my opinion, is Lady Macbeth!. It might be argued that Banquo is, but, if I remember rightly, is the founder of the subsequent Stuart line of kings!. (Wasn't Shakespeare writing for the court and times of James I/VI!?) Hope this helps a little bit!. If the question is one of general curiosity, I apologise for being so suspicious!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
