Read "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger

I just finished reading that- it was so interesting! I might compare it sort of to the feeling of The Notebook--- but different for sure!. It was so good and happy and sad and strange and everything!. A book that you could cry to, if you wanted to!.

The novel tells the story of Henry DeTamble (born 1963), a librarian at the Chicago Newberry Library, and his wife, Clare Abshire (born 1971), an artist from a wealthy family who makes paper sculptures!. When 20-year-old Clare meets 28-year-old Henry in 1991, he has never seen her before, although she has known him most of her life!. Clare's past is still in Henry's future!. Henry begins to experience the events in Clare's childhood at the same time that he experiences life with the adult Clare in the present!.

also as it happens to be- they are making this book into a movie for later this year- the lead character will be played by Rachel McAdams!. Crazy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I suggest ('girly' books =] )

Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin: Its about a love affair that happened between two people that have been best friends since elementary school, but they are complete opposites!. It's a really good book, and there is a sequel!.

Can You Keep a Secret!? by Sophie Kinsella: The main character tells some secrets to a man who she is sitting next to on a plane and he ends up being the CEO of the company she works for!. Another good read!. Lots of people like Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella!.

Just Between Us by Cathy Kelly: This book follows three sisters and the mother and just goes through the troubles that they are experiencing at the time (including divorce, adultery, depression, and alcoholism)!. Good, but long!.

And check out some other books by these authors and also Meg Cabot and Sarah Dessen!.

Hope this helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

My Fantasy List:

Uglies Trilogy by Scott Westerfeld
http://www!.scottwesterfeld!.com/books/ugl!.!.!.
UGLIES trilogy follows the high-tech adventures of Tally Youngblood!. As an ugly, then a pretty, and finally a special, Tally works to take down a society created to function with perfect-looking people who never have a chance to think for themselves!.

His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
http://www!.philip-pullman!.com/pages/cont!.!.!.
Lyra and Will, children from different worlds, share two common bonds, the loss of parents and the possession of objects which give them unique access to knowledge!. One is an object which communicates truth about any situation to any person wise enough to be able to read it and the other an instrument which can cut open windows to other worlds!.

Inheritance series by Christopher Paolini
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Inheritance!.!.!.
Fifteen year-old Eragon discovers his destiny as a Dragon Rider!. With only an ancient sword and the advice of an old storyteller for guidance, Eragon and his dragon must navigate the dangerous terrain and dark enemies of an Empire ruled by a king whose evil knows no bounds!.

Xanth Series by Piers Anthony
http://www!.amazon!.com/Xanth-nbsp-Series/!.!.!.
Fun series full of fantastic creatures, a unique parallel world and a magic system based on puns!. Yes I said puns! These are a light read and funny as heck (by the rules of the Adult Conspiracy if I say the other word really bad things will happen!.) Anthony has taken puns sent to him over the years by readers and woven them into a tongue in cheek universe where babies are actually delivered by storks and children are kept innocent at all costs!. Fun reads!.

Dragon Riders of Pern by Anne Mcaffery
http://www!.iblist!.com/series130!.htm
Anne Mcaffery is one of those authors whose books just leave you feeling good once you read the last page!. While a combination of Sci-fi and Fantasy (the argument continues about which one it is) they sit on my fantasy shelf!. Anyone who has ever dreamed of riding a dragon should read these!.

The Belgariad (5), The Malloreon(5), The Elenium (3), The Tamuli(3) by David and Leigh Eddings
http://www!.eddingschronicles!.com/index!.h!.!.!.
I can't say enough good about these books!. They are full of rich content, fantastic worldbuilding and plenty of sorcery!. One of my biggest draws is the humor, the interaction between characters can be side splitting at times!. They are rift with dry wit, affectionate banter and personal quirks!. My favorite books hands down!.

Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/Mists_of_Av!.!.!.
I've always loved her writing, even her Sci-fi books and I'm not a huge Sci-fi fan!. In this book she gives a feminist light on the Celtic era where Merlin reigned supreme!. In a topic that has been done to death, somehow she manages to make it all fresh and new, and a great read!. there are more books in this series that she wrote with Diane L!. Paxton including a prequel called Forest House!.

Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey
http://www!.mercedeslackey!.com/biblio_ser!.!.!.
This is a large collection and every book in it is excellent!. The concept of being *chosen* by a companion, which is essentially a telepathic horse with amazing powers, is delightful!. Once chosen you become one of the elite heralds, protectors of the realm!. Start with Arrows of the Queen!.

The Wheel of Time (11 in print, 12th book to be written by Brandon Sanderson) by Robert Jordan
http://en!.wikipedia!.org/wiki/The_Wheel_o!.!.!.
This huge sage takes place in a medievil type world where magic is called the One Power and can only be used by women!. Men who are born with this ability are fated to go insane, if they live that long as once found are usually killed first!. The saga centers around one man who, born with the One Power, is fated to save the world, while trying to save himself from insanity!. The first book takes off slow as the extensive worldbuilding begins to take shape but once you get past that part you will never regret it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Christopher Paolini:
In the first book, Eragon, a young man finds a mysterious blue stone in the forested mountains above his home in Alagaesia!. Along with his blue dragon, Saphira, Eragon is stumbling about because things are happening to him which he does not understand!. His inner goodness and common sense enable him to muddle through and he has some help from a couple of humans and some dwarfs!. In the second book, Eldest, the dwarfs, elves, humans, Eragon, and Saphira have joined forces against evil!. Eragon and Saphira have begun training to understand and improve their skills!. A new, red dragon makes an appearance!. I've been told that in the third book a golden dragon will appear!. It has just been announced that the third book, Brisingr, will be available on September 20, 2008!. Originally planned as a trilogy, Paolini has recently decided that there will be four books in his Inheritance Cycle!.

John Beachem: Storms of Vengeance is John's first novel and I've been told that it is part of a series of 8 to 10 books!. There is a murder mystery to be solved!. Who did it and why!? There is a mythical Lorradda Stone to locate!. There are three parallel stories as we follow the actions of three different groups of people!. There are also some ogres, two elves, several sorcerers, a troll, and one very impressive river monster!. The book ends with a cliff hanger!. One reason that young people gave for liking Harry Potter was the detail in the stories!. They will find plenty of detail here as well!. The title of the second book in the series will be The Hunter and the Marked!.

David Eddings: There are three stories in Volume I of The Belgariad: Pawn of Prophecy, Queen of Sorcery, and Magician's Gambit!. Volume II of The Belgariad has two stories: Castle of Wizardry and Enchanters' End Gambit!. If you are looking for grand adventure and plenty of detail it is here!. Some may object to the slow progression and limited action of this tale!. A sorcerer and his daughter, a sorceress, have gathered together a group of individuals to fight evil!. It seems that the particular make-up for this group is necessary based upon an ancient prophecy!. The group includes: the Nimble Thief, the Man with Two Lives, the Blind Man, the Dreadful Bear, the Knight Protector, the Horse Lord, the Bowman, the Queen of the World, and the Mother of the Race that Died!. A young boy named Garion, who was raised by his Aunt Pol, is caught up in all of this, though he doesn't know why!. But then, is she really his Aunt!? There is so much detail that I have not as yet confirmed there are no mistakes in the mapping of the story!. I thoroughly enjoyed The Belgariad and look forward to reading the sequel, The Mallorean!.

The Mallorean Volume I: Guardians of the West, King of the Murgos, and Demon Lord of Karanda by David Eddings
