Question: Mystery Books--but not scary!?
I'm a wuss and don't like scary things, even in books!.

Do you know of any mystery books (older YA or Adult) that aren't scary!?
I don't really read too much mystery, but I'm open to expanding my genres!. (I've only read And Then There Were None, basically)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Try Elizabeth Peters!. She writes adventurous mysteries both historical and present day!. She has a great historical series with the lead character Amelia Peabody and they are absolutely wonderful!. Another limited series she writes in the present feature a character named Vicki Bliss and I love them as well!. She also writes good present-day mysteries as Barbara Michaels!.

For more historical mysteries, Anne Perry writes two terrific series!. One is the Inspector Pitt series and the other are about a character name Monk (not the television one)!. The first is late Victorian, the second more like Crimean War era!. Really like them both!. They are pretty who-done-it style with absolutely impeccable historic detail!.

You might also try Sue Grafton's alphabetical series, J!.D!. Robb for a bit more adult futuristic series, Caroline Hart who writes fairly light mysteries, and I've heard everyone loves Janet Evanovich, although I haven't tried her yet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow!.!.I've been meaning to read And Then There Were None!.!.!.I need to check that out sometime!!

As for books, if that one didnt scare you too badly, Nancy Drew books might be right up your alley!. There are old ones, and then there are newer ones!.!.!.the old ones are classic, but the newer ones arent so bad!.!.!.and then after that there are newer ones still!. So plenty to choose from!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
