They are equally as good as each other!. Sure, they have their different merits but they are both acceptable works of literature!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

PULLMAN!

Just because Rowling is more accessible, doesn't make it better!. Pullman is a better writer, in technicality and style, Rowling is very good at plots etcetera but her characters are underdeveloped and her style is unpolished!.

So whereas I might have enjoyed the Potter stories more, I appreciated Pullman's work a million times over because I could see how talented he is!.

CONCLUSION:
Potter/Rowling = better story

Worse in my opinion!. I thought the Northern Lights trilogy started off well and then went down hill!. I liked all of the Harry Potter books and think they're all consistently good!. Philip Pullman may technically be a better writer, but that's no good if the strories aren't fun!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I found it hard to finish Pullman's Dark Materials series and had no desire to read them again, where I couldn't wait for the next Harry Potter book to get off the press and I have them all of the Potter books on audio so I can listen to them anytime I like!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, Pullman is a better writer-just look at the language style!. He also waffles less!. Rowlings is more easily accessible, despite the length because of the easy language &fairly straightforward plots!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've only read The Golden Compass out of the trilogy so far, and while I have the other two I've been putting off reading them!. I'm going to get to them eventually, but I think Rowlings writes better and more appealing books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

its just a whole different
harry potter is about magic
while his dark materials deal with all this dust issue
i liked both boks
but perhaps its easier to read rowlings books without stopping in between them
