The View from the Mirror Quartet by Ian Irvine!. Irvine is a fantastic author who created a believable universe that it is impossible not to get engrossed in!. It involves a trinity of planets all bordered by a place called the Void, where alien, monstrous creatures fight and kill each other to escape from their horrid prison!. There were three species of people, one for each of the worlds, but suddenly, there came a fourth people that escaped onto one of the worlds and took it over for themselves!. This starts a series of events that leads to the ruler of this new people creating a mystical object that allows people to travel safely between the worlds!. Well, the maker of the object loves it too much, and steals it back!. They chase him to one of the worlds, the human world of Santhenar, where he later destroys the object (a golden flute) and traps all of the others who had chased him on that world!. All of the people of the other species want to get back !.!.!. and are willing to do anything to make that possible!. It is a truly beautiful series that I am sad to see nobody else reads!. It haunted me for weeks after reading it, so I read it again!. Irvine spent years creating his world before we ever started writing, and you can see that when the characters journey through it!. It will make you cry with the wonder and majesty contained with in it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because I have a heart for adventure, I love the Harry Potter series!. Its really not just for kids! I am a grown professional woman, and absolutely loved the series!.

Some other books/authors I have really enjoyed recently include:

-Mary Roach (author) of "Spook" which is a scientific look at the existence of the afterlife, and "Stiff" which looks at what happens to human cadevers!. Both sound weird, but they are actually very interesting and she has a good sense of humor!.

-Dan Brown: He is best known for his "Da Vinci Code" book, but I actually like his other books better!. "Angels and Demons" is fantastic! His other books are more CIA-like, but also very good!.

Hope these help, enjoy!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favorite series aside from harry potter, would be the Protector of the Small series, by Tamora Pierce!. I remember reading it for the first time in elementary school and loving it!. The main character became my life role model, and the funny thing is, she still is!. I probably reread the series every six months!. And every time I love it as much as the first time!. I'm actually surprised I read them and loved them as a fifth grader and still do now, but I guess they appeal to all ages!.
Pretty much, its one of the greatest stories out there about overcoming all odds, and never giving up!. I know it sounds a little corny, but it definently is not!. =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

My number one favorite series is The Vorkosigan Saga by Lois McMcaster Bujold!. They're science fiction, but if you're not into SF, don't let that put you off!. LMB is an extraordinary writer and her narrative and characterization are the best around!. Her hero, Miles Vorkosigan is simply the best character you'll ever come across in any genre!. Start with The Warrior's Apprentice!.

These next series are not in any particular order, but they're all excellent reads:

The Obsidian Trilogy by Mercedes Lackey and James Mallory
The Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey!. Don't bother reading the later ones by her son Todd - they're terrible!
The Riftwar Saga by Raymond E!. Feist and several subsequent trilogies set in the same world
Empire trilogy (Servant, Mistress and Daughter of the Empire) by Raymond E!. Feist and Janny Wurts
The Temeraraire series by Naomi Novik
The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher
The Codex Alera by Jim Butcher
The Heralds of Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey
The Study Trilogy (Poison, Magic and Fire Study) by Maria V!. Snyder
The Hythrun Chronicles by Jennifer Fallon
The Demon Child Trilogy by Jennifer Fallon (read the Hythrun Chronicles first)
The Farseer Trilogy by Robin Hobb
The Tawny Man trilogy by Robin Hobb
The Soldier Son Trilogy by Robin Hobb
Kushiel's Legacy by Jacqueline Carey

There, that should keep you going for a while!Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favorite series is Dragonriders of Pern by Anne McCaffrey!. It's an older series, though I know new books have been added - her son is even writing now!. I don't know how those are!.

It was the first fantasy series I really got into, and I liked how she took a group of people, put them on another planet and then grew the society, which had to adjust to their new surroundings!.

Piers Anthony's Xanth fantasy series is pretty fun (at least the first ones)!.

Favorite series lately are Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan, Uglies, Pretties, Specials and Extras by Scott Westerfeld, and His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In no particular order!.!.!.

A Song of Ice and Fire - George R!. R!. Martin

Codex Alera - Jim Butcher

Green Rider series - Kristin Britain

The Sacred Hunt, The Sun Sword, and House War series by Michelle West (all in the same universe), and the Cast series by Michelle Sagara (same person - maiden name)

Anything by Martha Wells, but her series is The Death of the Necromancer and the following trilogy - The Fall of Ile-Rien as well as another earlier story without any characters from those novels - The Element of Fire!.

I could go on for a while even though you only asked for one series!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
