Question: My friend puts her works on the internet!?
My friend puts her stories and poems on this site (something to do writing talent)!. None of it is copyighted - someone could just take it right!? I don't think it's safe to do that - would you put any of your works on the internet on a site like BBC Talent etc!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think your friend doesn't realise she has a talent (if shes any good) & want to be told she is good, but your right someone could just take it & claim that its their work, i wouldnt put any of my hard work up for the taking!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If your friend is serious about publishing, then she obviously shouldn't post her work online!.

But if she just writes for fun, then i don't see the harm in it!. There are loads of writing communities online where people post there work to recieve feed back, or just for other people to read!.

Yeah, there's always the risk of plaigerism, but it's a risk lots of people are willing to take, myself included, for people to read their work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the UK it is automatically copywrighted as long as she puts her name to it; ANYTHING that is created is automatically the intellectual property of the creator!. I would happily put anything I write on such a site but ONLY if I've read through the terms and conditions and am happy that by posting it I am not forfeiting the rights to it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When your friend posts her stuff she should put this at the bottom of her posting!.

Copyright [year] by [author's name]!. All rights reserved!.

This will help protect her work!. She does not have to go through the government in order to copyright her own material in this way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

my mom does it all the time!. maybe its because they dont think they are as talented as they are or cant afford to get it copyrighted or just dont care!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

at the beginning or end of each piece have your friend do (crtl+alt+c) for the copyright symbolWww@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, it is up for plagiarism!. I wouldn't put any of my work on the internetWww@QuestionHome@Com
